Collection: New books 2026

Announcing Salt’s 2026 Book List!

We’re thrilled to share that 2026 marks a groundbreaking year for Salt. Our new list embraces fresh voices, daring ideas, and an expansion into genre fiction and non-fiction, offering a diverse selection of stories that challenge, entertain, and inspire.

This year’s list includes captivating new novels and collections that cross genres and push boundaries. Highlights include Michael Arditti’s The Tribe, Tibor Fischer’s My Bags Are Big, and David Flusfeder’s Something Might Fall.

There is a wonderful historical novel from Livi Michael, Elizabeth and Ruth. We are also delighted to be publishing two comic novels – Bill Broady’s There’s No ‘F’ in Wonderful, and Richard Tyrrell’s The Fox of Kensal Green.

Keep an eye out for some Scottish literary horror, with Christiana Spens’ The Colony – and new northern crime fiction, with a striking debut from S. J. Galbraith, The Wythenshawe Dandy. Added to this, there is an existential thriller from Jude Cook, Time Being.

Our poetry and short story list shines with Tobias Hill’s Collected Poems, and Guy Ware’s new stories, A Day Like Any Other.

On the non-fiction front, we are excited to present Nicholas Royle’s Finders, Keepers – the third instalment of his memoirs about books and book collecting. And we have a deliciously funny memoir from Katharine Grant, Clinging to the Crags.

We’re also proud to continue our much-loved Best British Short Stories series, now in its sixteenth volume.

Fourteen unforgettable books await you – stories to captivate, challenge, and inspire. Thank you for your continued support, and happy reading from your passionate team at Salt!
