Set across the leafiest suburbs of Sheffield, the sink estates of South Manchester, and the stark, snowy landscapes that separate them, The Wythenshawe Dandy presents a discomforting picture of a world where privilege and wretchedness coexist.
The novel opens with a chilling discovery: a dead young woman laid out in an unoccupied Sheffield flat. For Detective Inspector Cassie May, the victim looks troublingly familiar - and the investigation becomes deeply personal when the flat turns out to belong to her new partner, James Flynn.
When Flynn is accused of murder, Cassie puts her career and her life on the line. Defying her bosses, the security services, and a ruthless crime syndicate, she sets out to prove his innocence - even as Flynn seems more concerned with the long-buried secrets she might unearth than the murder charge hanging over him.

Originally from South Manchester, S. J. Galbraith moved to Sheffield in 1994, where he lives with his wife and daughters. After a successful career in senior business management, Stephen sold his company to pursue writing full-time, earning a Creative Writing MA with Distinction from Manchester Metropolitan University. The Wythenshawe Dandy marks his outstanding debut into crime fiction.
