Mark Rudman is Adjunct Professor at New York University and recently received fellowships from the National Endowment of the Arts and the Guggenheim Foundation. His many books include <em>Sundays on the Phone</em> (Wesleyan University Press, 2005) and <em>The Couple</em> (Wesleyan University Press, 2002). His trilogy (<em>Provoked in Venice</em> (Wesleyan University Press, 1999), <em>The Millennium Hotel</em> (Wesleyan University Press, 1996), <em>Rider</em> (Wesleyan University Press, 1994)) has been seen as a twentieth century <em>The Prelude</em>.
