Salt expands publicity roles as sales continue to grow
Emma Dowson is joining Salt in January as Publicist. The new role will provide publicity support for 2017’s list and Salt titles in general going forward. Hannah Corbett continues in her consulting role as Communications Director, focussing on her work with the Board in developing Salt’s communications strategy and its five year plan for growth.
Emma Dowson started her career as a publicist at Penguin Books and worked for many years at Transworld Publishers. Most recently she has been working with Myriad Editions on their fiction and graphics lists.
In the past year, Salt has achieved critical and commercial success with Wyl Menmuir's debut, The Many, longlisted for the 2016 Man Booker Prize, and they won the 2016 Polari First Book Prize with Paul McVeigh's debut, The Good Son, among others. Next year's list includes the highly anticipated debut novel from Guardian film critic, Xan Brooks, The Clocks in This House All Tell Different Times, the new novel from award-winning author Lesley Glaister, and new fiction from celebrated Scottish writer Ron Butlin and novelist and publisher Meike Ziervogel.
