Biographical note:  Douglas Barbour lives in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He teaches creative writing, modern and Canadian literature at the University of Alberta. His books include: Visible Visions: Selected Poems (NeWest 1984) and Story for a Saskatchewan Night (rdcpress, 1989). He has published critical volumes on bpNichol, and Michael Ondaatje (Twayne, 1993). With Stephen Scobie he performs in the sound poetry duo Re: Sounding, and edited the CD, Carnivocal: A Celebration of Sound Poetry (Red Deer Press, 1999).
